At Scotch Mountain Meats we have been farming the pristine hill and valleys of the Big Head River basin in Meaford Ontario for over 150 years, in fact we settled the area. We take pride in growing a product that dates back to a time when things were simpler. Our cooperative model is made up of neighbouring families committed to the principles of producing safe, environmentally-friendly food for our modern and busy age.


Our Process

The Scotch Mountain name means quality. We grow our own animal feeds (GMO FREE), which contain no animal by-products, we do not use antibiotics or growth hormones; adhering to the principles of providing high quality, safe, natural meat. We also support environmentally sustainable production initiatives by utilizing cover crops and crop rotation methods to minimize and eliminate artifical fertilizer inputs. By doing so we have set a standard for preserving the family farms, producing a superior product and demonstrating the down home service of yesteryear to our customers and your family.
